Cement Manufacturing
Cement Plant Operations
Equipment and Process Functions in the Cementing Industry: Part (3)
Part three: the cement side. Finish grinding, additions, storage, packing and despatch.

Overview
The final part covers everything after the cooler. Finish grinding systems and separators, the handling and dosing of gypsum and supplementary materials, cement silos and the segregation and flow problems they produce, and the packing and despatch equipment where product finally meets a customer. Bulk loading and the weighing accuracy that underpins invoicing are included, because an error there is a commercial problem rather than a technical one.
Who should attend
Cement mill and despatch personnel, maintenance staff on the cement side, process engineers, and logistics and commercial staff who depend on despatch equipment.
What you will be able to do
- Describe each major cement side machine and its function.
- Explain additions handling and dosing accuracy.
- Identify silo flow and segregation problems and their causes.
- Assess packing and loading equipment performance.
- Maintain weighing accuracy through to invoicing.
How it is taught
Short input, then work, across 5 days of roughly 6 teaching hours each. Exercises run on situations delegates bring rather than on a case study written for a different organisation. Cohorts are capped so that everybody is asked something.
Available as classroom, live online, in house.

Certificate
A GATI certificate recording what was attended, issued after the programme has run and attendance has been taken. Attending at least 80 per cent of the days earns a certificate of completion; attending less earns a certificate of attendance stating exactly what was attended. Every certificate carries a code that anybody can check against GATI's own record.
It records participation. and GATI does not claim one it does not hold.
