- Level
- Intermediate
- Fee from
- US$1,500
Overview
This is the operational counterpart to the technology overview. It is built around what a person on shift actually does: starting and stopping equipment in the right order, reading the control screens, recognising when a parameter is drifting, and knowing what to do before it becomes a stop. The chemistry is covered to the depth needed to make sense of the readings rather than for its own sake, and the troubleshooting sessions use real plant symptoms.
Who should attend
Control room and field operators, production technicians and shift supervisors, maintenance staff moving into production, and trainers running internal programmes.
What you will be able to do
- Operate each major section within its intended envelope.
- Read control screens and recognise an abnormal trend early.
- Respond to upsets with the correct sequence of actions.
- Start up and shut down safely and in the right order.
- Record and hand over information a following shift can use.
How it is taught
Short input, then work, across 5 days of roughly 6 teaching hours each. Exercises run on situations delegates bring rather than on a case study written for a different organisation. Cohorts are capped so that everybody is asked something.
Available as classroom, live online, in house.

Certificate
A GATI certificate recording what was attended, issued after the programme has run and attendance has been taken. Attending at least 80 per cent of the days earns a certificate of completion; attending less earns a certificate of attendance stating exactly what was attended. Every certificate carries a code that anybody can check against GATI's own record.
It records participation. and GATI does not claim one it does not hold.
