Blended Cement Operation and Process Techniques
Producing blended cements: material selection, grinding strategy and the quality control they demand.

Overview
Blended cements cut clinker factor and emissions and are harder to make well. This week covers the supplementary materials in use, what each contributes and what it costs in early strength, and the grinding strategies available, intergrinding against separate grinding, with the particle size distribution consequences of each. Quality control gets extended attention, since blended products vary more and the standards conformity question is correspondingly tighter.
Who should attend
Process and quality engineers, production managers, product development staff, and technical sales handling blended products.
What you will be able to do
- Select supplementary materials on contribution, cost and availability.
- Choose between intergrinding and separate grinding for a product.
- Manage early strength loss and setting changes.
- Control quality on a product with more variable inputs.
- Meet standards conformity for a blended type.
How it is taught
Short input, then work, across 5 days of roughly 6 teaching hours each. Exercises run on situations delegates bring rather than on a case study written for a different organisation. Cohorts are capped so that everybody is asked something.
Available as classroom, live online, in house.

Certificate
A GATI certificate recording what was attended, issued after the programme has run and attendance has been taken. Attending at least 80 per cent of the days earns a certificate of completion; attending less earns a certificate of attendance stating exactly what was attended. Every certificate carries a code that anybody can check against GATI's own record.
It records participation. and GATI does not claim one it does not hold.
